When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.
Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review
When it comes to accountability, a majority of Days of our Lives characters can honestly say that the Devil made them do it. Sure, Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) spent weeks wreaking havoc (and shopping), but the blame surely lies with Lucifer.
And granted Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) did chloroform Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) and keep her prisoner, but Old Scratch admitted to putting the idea in his head in the first place…and it’s that fact that has yours truly thinking. What else can be blamed on the Prince of Darkness? What other character assassinations and fits of pique can be explained away as, “beyond the person’s control”?
Is this how Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) earns his redemption? Is this Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) excuse to go full Alex Forrest (see Fatal Attraction) on Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker)?
And exactly how far removed from the main storyline does a Days of our Lives character have to be in order to cash in on that sweet, sweet absolvement?

* Is this truly a wrap for (Father) Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan)? Is there really much point in ever bringing the character back onto the Days of our Lives canvas…barring the next exorcism or three?
