A Case For Bringing Theresa Donovan Back To Days of our Lives

Despite being the daughter of two of Days of our Lives’ most heroic do-gooders, Theresa Donovan was a decided schemer – which is something this soap is currently in need of. Sure, it still has Sami Brady, but she can’t be the only character exacerbating the townsfolk with her errant ways. Which is but one of the many reasons why DAYS should consider bringing Theresa back into the fold.

Need a bit more convincing? Try this on for size: Theresa’s (Jen Lilley) return would finally give her ex-husband, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) something to do other than pine for Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) – or fall back into his pattern of excusing, forgiving, and then vilifying Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).

And it’s not like Theresa would be a stranger in a strange land. She, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) briefly toyed with the idea of joining forces and running Basic Black like the Lady Bosses that they are. Perhaps with Xander Cooke’s (Paul Telfer) position now vacant, Theresa could pick up where she left off?

And speaking of Xander, he and Miss Donovan have quite the prickly past – which includes his attempting to murder her, and her libelous accusations against him; luckily their last interaction with one another went a bit more smoothly – he did save her from an international criminal after all.

But neither one of them remembered to save Chloe, who was also a victim of the vicious drug lord…so things might get a tad awkward between the professional warbler and the budding fashion designer.

It also wouldn’t hurt to have yet another bona fide Brady on the canvas – especially one who has a very complicated relationship with the blended Horton/Deveraux family and Brady Black’s. Surely no one’s forgotten all the trouble that Theresa and JJ Deveraux once got up to, or how Theresa so cruelly attempted to blow up Jennifer Horton Deveraux’s precious world…and John’s (Drake Hogestyn) probably still not over Theresa’s attempt to murder him!
