The Young and the Restless has had some of the most iconic couplings in daytime television history. Over the course of the show’s long history; there have been many couples who have stood out, but none more than the six listed below.

From young to old, love knows no boundaries in the town of Genoa City. Scandals, divorce and even death can’t keep these lovers apart. Here are some of the best.

6. Sharon Collins and Nick Newman

After almost 20 years together, Nick Newman and Sharon Collins have weathered their fair share of heartbreak. Although there are fans that wish the couple would finally part, the idea of Sharon being without Nick and vice-versa is unthinkable to many of the show’s fans.

This twosome has been friends, enemies, and lovers throughout their relationship. They have co-parented their two children with love and despite their best intentions, cannot stay away from each other, always being drawn to the other like a moth to a flame. Although they are friends now, man fans hope their romantic love will be rekindled some day.

5. Drucilla Barber and Neil Winters

Former runaway Drucilla Barber fell for young executive Neil Winters the moment she laid eyes on him. Dru became close with Neil’s brother Malcom and after one night together, she became pregnant while still in a union with Neil. She chose to keep the child’s paternity a secret and raised her daughter Lily as Neil’s.

In 1995, Dru’s marriage to Neil collapsed because she wanted a career and he wanted her to stay home and raise their daughter. The two separated in 2002, and finally remarried in 2003. They stayed together despite their continued marital clashes and remained a family with their daughter until Drucilla’s untimely death in 2007, after she and Sharon struggled and both fell off a cliff. Drucilla’s body was never found.

4. Christine Blair and Danny Romalotti

Waiter turned rock and roll superstar Danny Romalotti fell for the young and beautiful Cricket Blair when she was just a teenager. They weathered many relationship storms including the intrusion of the diabolical David Kimble on their relationship. Kimble set Danny up to be arrested on cocaine possession, but Danny was exonerated at his trial.

Danny was acquitted, but David was never implicated. The couple married in 1990 in Hawaii, but their happiness was short-lived. David attempted to murder Christine and her best friend Nina at a masquerade ball while he wore the same costume as Danny, as he was set on inheriting Nina’s wealth as her new husband.

Christine went on to become a prominent lawyer, and Danny spent a lot of time on the road. His marriage to Christine began to suffer, and she began to spend more time with Paul Williams. Their marriage would eventually unravel.

3. Traci Abbott and Brad Carlton

Traci Abbott was a rich girl who was attracted to the Abbott family’s sexy young groundskeeper Brad Carlton. Suffering from self-esteem issues, Traci never believed that Brad could love her.

But he showed her that his love was pure and the two eventually became a couple, the two were quickly married in 1986, but Brad chose his budding career over his wife. Traci left town to continue her education at Stanford University.

During their separation, Brad had an affair with Traci’s enemy Lauren Fenmore, and Traci reconnected with her ex-Tim Sullivan. When Traci returned home, the two attempted to reconnect and eventually, she became pregnant but miscarried their child. She later lost the love of her life to her older sister, Ashley Abbott, who stole Brad from her younger sister. Traci and Brad divorced in 1989.

2. Phyllis Summers and Jack Abbott

After 15 years as a couple, Phyllis Summers and Jack Abbott is a match made in soap opera heaven. Phyllis married Jack and they learned she was unable to have anymore children. The two have weathered many storms in their years together including Sharon’s affair with the much younger Nick Newman, who used their affair to numb his emotions after his daughter’s tragic death.

Phyllis became pregnant and was unsure if Nick or Jack was the father. A paternity test supposedly revealed Nick as the father, and she eventually gave birth to their daughter, Summer Newman. The two finally broke up in 2012, but Phyllis never forgot Jack, who always loved her and respected her for who she really was and didn’t try to change her.

1. Nikki Reed and Victor Newman

Together for over thirty years now, Nikki Reed and Victor Newman are the quintessential Genoa City couple. This duo has battled marriage, divorce, remarriage, children, scandal, legal issues and more, but despite outside influences that repeatedly interfere in their union, the duo just can’t stay apart from one another.

This former stripper turned society dame will always be the one and only for the diabolical head of Newman Enterprises. The couple shares two children, Victoria and Nicholas. She is also the mother of Dylan McEvoy, the child she gave up for adoption. Their co-dependent relationship will likely continue for many years to come.
