Brooke Logan has been driving story since the day The Bold and the Beautiful premiered. Viewers didn’t know her but they fell instantly in love with the plucky heroine and loving sister and daughter, who fought off some attackers who wanted to drag her into a van. Lately, though, Brooke has been supporting other storylines instead of having her own.
The Bold and the Beautiful’s Brooke Is a Busybody
We’ve seen the show place Brooke in a position where she’s either championing the love life of her sister Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), a grown woman, and/or sticking her nose into the marital life of her ex-husband Eric Forrester (John McCook). Busybody Brooke is constantly trying to get Eric to walk away from Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) because she doesn’t think Quinn is right for Eric.
Perhaps if Brooke had a storyline of her own and let Pam Douglas (Alley Mills) play the interfering relative in Eric’s life then, she wouldn’t be coming off as so meddlesome. We understand that Brooke and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) can’t always be in a romantic conflict but the reality is both have had many other partners over the years that might create some much-needed story. With Taylor Hayes set to return to the show (in the form of Krista Allen), Brooke might find that the good doctor is once again her rival for Ridge’s affections.
Devious Deacon Sharpe
Sure, Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Bridget Forrester’s (then, Jennifer Finnigan; now, Ashley Jones) marriage was on the skids when Brooke connected with her son-in-law but “Breacon” (were there “smush” names back then?) was on fire back in the day. Brooke must have felt incredible passion for him if she were going to risk sleeping with her own daughter’s husband. Could those old feelings reignite? Brooke sure is angry about Deacon’s presence. Some people might like to see that. Quinn sure would because it would get Brooke out of her hair!
Why Brooke Logan Forrester Truly Needs Her Own Story
Not every character can be on the front burner all the time on The Bold and the Beautiful but perhaps Brooke not having her own storyline is so noticeable because of what she is doing – meddling in Eric’s life. She’s hardly in a position to know what’s best for the man. Brooke was married to Eric but cheated on him with Ridge right at Forrester Creations in the middle of a workday.
Brooke was at a crossroads when she and Eric connected. Theirs was an unlikely pairing but one filled with romance and showed that second chances in life were possible. Their union resulted in two children – Rick and Bridget. And what did Brooke do when she had this wonderful man? She broke his heart.
So, while it’s one thing to not see Brooke in her own story, it’s entirely another to see her be such a hypocrite when she tells Eric repeatedly that he’s with the wrong woman. It’d be nice to see a scene where Brooke and Eric talk about this. It’d be the start of perhaps Brooke getting her own story.
