It’s no secret The Bold and the Beautiful has been missing some much-loved faces of recent years. From Deacon Sharpe, Amber Moore, and Ivy Forrester to an entire family wiped clean from the screen. We have to wonder, what really happened to the fan-favorite Avant family.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Missing Pieces
It wasn’t too long ago that Maya Avant (Karla Mosley) and Nicole Avant (Reign Edwards) were front burner characters. From Maya’s groundbreaking transgender storyline to Nicole carrying her sister’s baby, these siblings lit up the screen often. They were staples for years, even marrying into the most prominent family in town.
Sending Maya and Nicole to Europe with their husbands was a hit that kept on giving. Not only did fans miss the sisters, but they also missed Zende Forrester Dominguez (then, Rome Flynn), Rick Forrester (Jacob Young), and even pot-stirrer Sasha Thompson (Felisha Cooper). That’s not to mention the sweetness of Vivienne Avant (Anna Maria Horsford) balancing against the gruffness of her husband, Julius Avant (Obba Babatundé).
B&B: Hope and Heartbreak
The worst part wasn’t sending them away, it was the hope that the family was back especially when Maya and little Lizzy came home after the divorce from Rick. The mother and daughter moved on into the Logan mansion never to be seen or talked about again. Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) is constantly boasting about little Beth and even sweet Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), forgetting she has a whole other granddaughter living in town.
Zende’s (now, Delon de Metz) return gave hope Nicole would soon follow. But, alas, she was left behind to model for Forrester International without a second thought (or an explanation!). We don’t even know if Zende is actually divorced or just ran from his problems. He never talks about his wife (is she still his wife?), the love they shared, or the life he left behind. It’s almost like it never happened at all.
Bold and Beautiful: A Return Is Long Overdue
It’s time for the Avant family to return for many reasons. The show needs more steadfast families and more storylines. The Avant family proved themselves to be a crew of powerhouse players who deserve their time in the spotlight once again.
