The week of November 1, 2021
Dr. Taylor Hayes, Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) long-missing mother will be heading back to the soap, next month. However, she won’t be portrayed by Hunter Tylo, who originated the character in 1990.
In a surprise move, the role has been recast with a Days of our Lives vet. Krista Allen, who played Billie Reed from 1996 to 1999, will begin appearing as Taylor in December. “If there was ever any type of role to come back to daytime with, it would be this one,” the actress told Soap Opera Digest. “I couldn’t have asked for a better role to step into — or bigger shoes to fill. I love a good challenge.”
