Ridge Forrester has learned the truth – his wife Brooke Logan Forrester made out with another man and had a sleepover with him on New Year’s Eve. For his portrayal of a man wronged on The Bold and the Beautiful, Soap Hub bestows upon Thorsten Kaye the honor of Performer of the Week for B&B.

Thorsten Kaye – Performer of the Week

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) fretted for over a month that Ridge would somehow learn of her alcoholic indiscretion with Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) as 2021 came to a close. She had more or less defended Hope Logan Spencer’s (Annika Noelle) father for months despite Ridge’s admonishing that Deacon was bad news and no good could come from his continued presence in their lives.

Secrets more often than not come out on soaps and recently, Ridge heard what had transpired from Deacon and Brooke not just from Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) but Brooke, too. First, Taylor gently informed her ex that Brooke had betrayed him with Deacon. Ridge tried to dismiss Taylor’s remarks, calling her ridiculous, and then, he got slightly irate pointing out that Taylor wasn’t there. Taylor informed Ridge that Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) was.

Ridge tried to dismiss Douglas’s recollection. He’s just a kid! Ridge looked for any reason to deny Taylor’s claims that Brooke was with Deacon. Rather than fly into a rage, Ridge returned home. Fortunately for Brooke, Ridge’s arrival timed with her decision to come clean. Ridge wouldn’t fully conceive what went down until he heard it from Brooke herself – and even then, not at first. After Brooke said she kissed Deacon, Ridge said, ‘You wouldn’t do that.’

Ridge agreed with Brooke that he didn’t want to hear the specifics but rather, he needed to. At times, Ridge was patiently waiting for Brooke to unload what had transpired; at others, Thorsten Kaye’s Ridge acted like a prosecutor trying to take his witness down a path, suggesting that if Brooke had left the drink down then Deacon could have spiked it.

Brooke said Deacon only tried to help her which didn’t sit well with Ridge. She finished her story, telling an irritated Ridge that Deacon helped her to bed. Brooke claimed that nothing happened (technically, nothing did), Ridge queried how could she have known what did or didn’t transpire if she were out of it? Also, Ridge noted that Brooke drinking with Deacon and sleeping in the same bed with him isn’t exactly ‘nothing.’

A deeply wounded Ridge told Brooke in his gravely husky voice that she let him down, she hurt him but hastened to add that she’s the love of his life…’You’re my Logan.’ Ridge excused himself and made a beeline over to Il Giardino where Deacon works, loaded for bear. He knocked Deacon to the ground with one punch, setting the stage for what is likely to be a brawny battle as B&B heads into next week!

Honorable mentions: As Steffy Forrester Finnegan, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood continues to live up to the legacy left by TV grandmother Stephanie Forrester (played by Susan Flannery). Brooke may no longer have to face the late matriarch’s wrath when it comes to her indiscretions however, Steffy is only too happy to shine a light on them. Thorsten Kaye’s TV daughter marched over to Brooke’s house and let her know that her father was not going to put up with her deceitful ways. Comedy’s difficult to pull off on soaps but Matthew Atkinson gave us a chuckle as his character Thomas Forrester mocked Brooke explaining away how her incident with Deacon was just one big oopsie!
