Hope and Liam’s marriage rapidly fell apart after Liam spied his wife kissing Thomas on The Bold and the Beautiful. The once happily-ever-after duo signed divorce papers and appear committed to moving on. But there’s been one key person missing in all the turmoil, Thomas and Hope’s son. And the MIA Douglas Forrester would add major drama to the Thomas, Hope, and Liam triangle.
Where’s Douglas Forrester?
While the Logan family has been rightfully concerned about how a Hope/Liam divorce will affect the couple’s only daughter, Beth, there’s been no mention or sighting of Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) throughout all the turmoil. Certainly, he’ll be heavily affected by whatever comes to pass, too.
B&B: Hope in the Middle
As much as Douglas loves Liam (Scott Clifton), the kid has always dreamed of living with both his parents, and that’s actually a possibility now. It seems like a missed opportunity to not have him in the storyline mix over the last few weeks, not to have had him interacting with Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and sensing their different dynamic. His reaction to his parents’ new relationship could have somewhat leveled the Liam versus Thomas playing field.
Or it could have actually pushed Hope in Thomas’s direction. Seeing how happy Douglas would have been might have made her realize that there are two children to consider in this complicated situation. While Beth may end up brokenhearted if Hope and Liam divorce, Douglas would be elated if Hope and Thomas became a bona fide couple.
Bold and the Beautiful: A Push Toward Thomas
Also, having witnessed his father’s manipulating tactics over the years — specifically, using Hope’s love for Douglas to his advantage, Douglas could have subtly taken a page out of his dad’s book. He could have pushed things in Thomas’s favor by talking him up to Hope or arranging romantic alone time for his parents in hopes of deepening their connection.
Yet, sadly, the youngster hasn’t been around for any of this front-burner storyline. Not only is it a glaring omission, but also a pretty big missed opportunity.
