Y&R Star Telma Hopkins Shoots TV Pilot Dangerous Moms

 Comments

Telma Hopkins, who made her debut on The Young and the Restless earlier this year as private eye Denise Tolliver, has been busy shooting a pilot for a new series. This project paired her with an actress who has also spent time in Genoa City.

Telma Hopkins Is A Dangerous Mom

Hopkins’s pilot, Dangerous Moms, tells the tale of four diverse mothers who accidentally kill the ‘Queen Bee’ of their school’s PTA during the demonstration of a new high-end food processor. Hopkins plays the character of Fatima. One of her co-stars is Vanessa Marano (ex-Eden Baldwin). “I was so surprised when I saw her, I said, ‘It’s Eden!'” Telma Hopkins, a longtime Y&R viewer, tells Soap Hub.

“The pilot is based on a Spanish series [Señoras del (h)AMPA],” Hopkins shares. “We become ‘dangerous’ because of circumstances. It’s dark but it’s also funny. It’s really different from anything that I’ve ever done or anything that I thought I’d ever do.”

Hopkins, whose character Denise Tolliver, helped Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) assist Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) in her quest, says that now the truly difficult part with Dangerous Moms begins — waiting! “We’re excited and we feel we’ve got something special. Every once in a while, there are projects that really get you excited and I feel good about Dangerous Moms.”

Hopkins Is In Great Company

Janine Sherman Barrois (Criminal Minds) is the show’s executive producer and writer. Jason Ensler (Love, Victor) is also the executive producer and directed the pilot. In addition to Telma Hopkins and Marano (who plays Becki), the show’s cast includes Christopher Daniel as Hilliard, Cristian Gonzalez as Unknown Man, Jay Gutierrez as Silhouette Man, Shanola Hampton as Monique, Peyton Jackson as Terrell Wallace, Irene A. Kim as Josephine, C.S. Lee as Victor, Jonathan Mercedes as Arturo, Linda Park as Chloe Chen, Dasha Polanco as Pia, and Tatiana Zappardino as Asali.
