Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, January 3, 2022, rolls into the new year with Chance Chancellor taking on Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor’s role as being the whining center of attention, Amanda Sinclair sides with Devon Hamilton, Sharon Rosales extends an olive branch to Chelsea Lawson, and Sally Spectra and Adam Newman most definitely don’t have a New Year’s date.

The Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights

Chance (Conner Floyd) finally confesses to Abby (Melissa Ordway) that he doesn’t feel he can be a good father to Dominic. He mentions his own father, who dumped him when he was small.

Abby insists it’s because Phillip the Third was an overwhelmed teen (so that’s the story we’re going with now…every version just makes Phillip sound worse and worse…Nina was an overwhelmed teen, too, and she managed not to dump her baby…well, not this baby.) Chance insists he doesn’t seem to have a paternal instinct…you know, not like Devon (Bryton James) does.

Meanwhile, Amanda (Mishael Morgan), the lawyer who drew up Devon’s surrogacy contract – when he listened to her, that is – is now urging Devon to break it and go after his son. She admits it’s probably because she sees her own father in him, the one who never quit looking for Amanda and Hilary until he was killed – off-screen (remember that story?).

Young and the Restless: Un Date

Sharon (Sharon Case) invites Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) to join her and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) for New Year’s Eve – even though it’s also the couple’s anniversary. Eventually, she excuses herself, leaving Sharon and Rey to eat their year-old wedding cake on their own.

Chelsea goes to Adam’s (Mark Grossman) where she catches him having a good time with Sally (Courtney Hope), even though they made the wrong choice of Hitchcock movie to watch (Notorious is totes better than North By Northwest). Chelsea pouts.
