Soap Opera Casting For The week of September 20, 2021

Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.

Days of our Lives

After a long absence, John Aniston is finally resurfacing on Days of our Lives. Look for the Kiriakis family patriarch to turn up in scenes with Eric Martsolf’s Brady on Wednesday, September 22, when Victor makes a request of his grandson.

Cady Huffman has wrapped up her short-term run as Bonnie’s (Judi Evans) duplicitous sister-in-law, Calista Lockhart. The actress, who debuted in the role on August 27, was quickly killed off the soap. Also off the canvas is Kevin Sizemore, who portrayed Calista’s late husband, Harrison Lord, in flashback scenes.

General Hospital

Briana Nicole Henry has decided to leave her role as General Hospital’s Jordan Ashford, after a three-year stint. Her character was sent off to Albany for medical treatment.

Also exiting GH is Sofia Mattsson as Sasha Gilmore. The actress, who recently gave birth to her first child, is on maternity leave and will be off the canvas for a while.

Meanwhile, Lexi Ainsworth is popping back into Port Charles as Kristina Corinthos-Davis, this week. She’ll appear in scenes with Maura West’s Ava.

The Young and the Restless

Over at The Young and the Restless, original cast member Janice Lynde is returning as Leslie Brooks. The character will be in town to attend a special event. Lynde played Leslie from 1973 to 1977 and again, briefly, in 2018.

Lauralee Bell is also apparently back on set taping scenes as Christine Blair Williams. The actress shared a photo on Instagram from Y&R’s CBS studios parking lot along with the message, “Here today. It’s been a while.”

The Bold and the Beautiful

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Henry Joseph Samiri is back on the scene as Douglas Forrester, Thomas’ (Matthew Atkinson) son. The adorable little actor is set to appear on Thursday, September 23.

Aaron B. Spears, who’s been MIA as Justin Barber since betraying his best friend and boss, Bill (Don Diamont), is back for some storyline action on Wednesday, September 22. Spears will interact with Thorsten Kaye when Ridge recruits his character for an undercover assignment.

Denise Richards is back as Shauna Fulton on Tuesday, September 21. She’ll share scenes with Rena Sofer’s Quinn, who tells her a big secret.
