GH Star Sofia Mattsson Announces Birth of Her Baby

Sasha Gilmore’s joyfully anticipating the birth of her baby on General Hospital. In real life, her portrayer, Sofia Mattsson has some big baby news that she’s now sharing with her fans.

“Happiest 4 weeks ever with this little guy!” Sofia Mattsson posted on Instagram along with a photograph of herself and her newborn son. The newborn’s father is Mattsson’s husband Thomas Payton, an actor/producer/director.

“He joined us on 7/26/21 and stole my heart completely!!” Right now, the actress isn’t offering up many other additional details but pals and co-stars are weighing in with supportive comments.

New parents Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase) and his wife, writer Lauren Swickard, who welcomed their daughter, Savannah Kaye Swickard, on April 2, both posted smiling heart-filled emojis to Mattsson. “Omg congratulations,” wrote Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks).

A Bundle Of Joy

Sofia Mattsson kept news of her expecting under wraps. Shortly after it was revealed that Sasha was pregnant with Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) baby, the actress posted on Instagram that she, too, was with child.

“BIG things happening!!” Mattsson wrote. “So happy and excited to finally share this (almost ready to pop) bump with everyone!! Kept it a secret for a while to not spoil anything for GH viewers, but now that miss Sasha Gilmore’s pregnancy is in full force I can finally share that I’m so grateful to be sharing this pregnancy journey with her!”

Mattsson’s pregnancy was written into the show and recently, viewers saw Sasha having an ultrasound exam at General Hospital with a supportive Brando by her side. No word yet on when Sasha will give birth or if Sofia Mattsson is already back at the ABC studios taping scenes. Soap Hub congratulates Mattsson and Payton on the birth of their son.
