A daytime vet and a newbie are heading to The Young and the Restless for a special occasion. Here’s the soap’s latest casting news for the week of September 21-25.

The Week of September 21, 2026

Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy’s (Jason Thompson) upcoming nuptials set the stage for the arrival of two new cast members and wedding guests. Patrika Darbo will reprise her role of Shirley Spectra, Sally’s grandmother, while Ashley Campbell will debut as Coco Spectra, Sally’s sister. Darbo originally played Shirley on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2017 to 2018. Campbell is new to daytime and assumes the role of Coco from Courtney Grosbeck, who portrayed the character on B&B (2017-2018). Expect to see both actresses on screen next month.

Cait Fairbanks, who’s been off the canvas as Tessa Porter since April, is back on set filming. The actress shared the news, along with a selfie of herself, in an Instagram story and cited the soap’s studio in CBS Television City as her location.

Beth Maitland pops in as Traci Abbott. She makes a much-needed house call to her onscreen brother, Jason Thompson’s Billy, on Thursday, September 24. Check out the powerful moments that prove the soap needs Maitland on screen full-time.

Roger Howarth gets more screen time as Matt Clark. Look for Matt’s change of heart to puzzle Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis on Tuesday, September 22. The duo interacts again on Thursday, September 24.

Vivica A. Fox resurfaces as Dr. Stephanie Simmons. The character and Sean Dominic’s Nate define their relationship on Tuesday, September 22.
