Do You Think Reed Needs A Strong Male Role Model?

Reed has been a bit of a wild child on The Young and the Restless, since he arrived on his mom Victoria’s doorstep.

His behavior – from using Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) credit card to access Internet porn to making out with his girlfriend when he was supposed to be watching his siblings – has led to some heated disagreements between him and his mother. Then, Reed made things worse by sneaking out of the house to perform at The Underground, when he was grounded.

With Billy’s (Jason Thompson) help, mom and son have reached a truce, but it’s clear the teen needs some serious guidance. Soap Hub asked fans of The Young and the Restless if you think Reed needs a strong male role model in his life. Some 5,000 of you weighed in on the subject.

Yes, He Needs A Man
Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) is in desperate need of a strong male role model, according to 95% of you; someone who could rein him in. There are a couple of candidates in Victoria’s immediate family, who could do the job. Namely, her father, Victor (Eric Braeden), or her brother, Nick.

Stern, no-nonsense Victor would use a firm hand and probably get the kid on the straight and narrow in a matter of hours. Meanwhile, Nick (Joshua Morrow) would probably take a gentler approach, trying to relate to Reed as a big brother. Victoria should be open to either of them.

No, His Mom’s Got This
Some 5% of you feel Reed will do just fine with Victoria’s guidance. Right now, mother and son are going through an adjustment period, acclimating not only to each other, but also living under the same roof. Fortunately, Billy’s been helping bridge the gap between them. It’s just a matter of time before things – and Reed –are under control.

What About Billy?
The final 1% of you were a little perplexed by the question and responded by checking “other.” The reason is simple. You think Billy has been a fine role model for Reed so far. He’s handled the teen’s questions responsibly and never tried to undermine Victoria’s control over the son. He’s just tried to help, and, so far, he’s made things between mother and son a lot better.
