A trio of ex couples remain in each other’s orbits on The Young and the Restless, which leaves the door open for a possible reconciliation.
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is employed at Jabot again, courtesy of Fenmore’s merger with the company — which puts her back in ex-hubby Jack and ex-lover Billy’s workspace. Meanwhile, Billy and Victoria spend 9 to 5 at Brash & Sassy, discussing business and their children.
The scenarios have left the door open for plenty of interaction between three former couples. Soap Hub asked which of the three twosomes you don’t want to see reunited. Over 6,500 fans of The Young and the Restless responded.
Phyllis and Billy
The bulk of fans, some 71%, do not want to see a Phyllis/Billy reunion. Their pairing was wrong on so many levels. You were glad the show’s writers ended their affair quickly and want it to stay over. Billy (Jason Thompson) belongs with Victoria, and Phyllis belongs with Jack. What you’d really like is to see both of them head back to their former spouses. That’s where they belong.
Phyllis and Jack
Phyllis betraying Jack (Peter Bergman) by sleeping with his little brother put a definitive end to Phyllis and Jack, according to 15% of you. As much as you originally adored and rooted for the couple, it was over forever after that affair. It’s a hurt Jack will never get over, and he shouldn’t. And, sadly, he’s painfully reminded of it every time he sees Billy’s face.
Billy and Victoria
Some 14% of you hope that the soap’s writers don’t pen another Billy and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) reunion. You’ve watched the couple break up, reunite, and break up again more times than you can count. Enough already. Their relationship is obviously flawed or they wouldn’t keep getting on and off this romantic merry-go-round. It’s time they found love elsewhere.
