Adam Newman met his demise on The Young and the Restless for the second time in 2016.

The popular character has been recast twice on The Young and the Restless. Chris Engen, who created Adam, was the shortest to last in the role.

His successors, Michael Muhney and Justin Hartley, both made Adam their own and amassed quite a following in the process. But who was the best Adam Newman? Over 13,000 shared their thoughts on the subject.

Justin Hartley
Latest Adam, Justin Hartley, garnered 44% of your votes. While you were initially hesitant to accept his recast, he won you over with his ability and charm.

His Adam was kinder, gentler and went from black hat villain to a somewhere in between gray hat bad boy. It was a change you’d been wanting to see in the character for a long time.

A Dead Heat
Some 40% of Y&R fans couldn’t chose between Hartley and Muhney. You feel that both actors were equally outstanding in the role.

Each was great in head-to-head sparring scenes with TV dad, Eric Braeden (Victor), and they both shared incredible chemistry with leading lady Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea).

Michael Muhney
The remaining 16% of you never got over Michael Muhney’s exit as Adam. His final storyline and scenes — the character getting found out as the person who ran down and killed Delia — will go down as one of your all-time favorites.

You thought he was an actor of the highest caliber and, quite frankly, irreplaceable.
