Viewers of The Young and the Restless know that Chloe’s a caring mother and now there’s the cutest evidence that her portrayer, Elizabeth Hendrickson, is a great parent too!

Elizabeth Hendrickson Offers Great Advice

Recently, Hendrickson posted a video of her adorable 1-year-old daughter Josephine James perfecting her walking skills. Rather than act as a “helicopter parent,” the actress wants her child to be independent! “Oh yes! Let them figure it out,” Hendrickson shared in her post.

“Leaving this ramp in a safe spot allowing her to explore every edge has made her a pro in just a couple days,” the proud mom adds. “Not once would you hear me say ‘oh no’ like the song played here or ‘oops’ when she fell.”

Instead, Hendrickson pointed her daughter towards the path of success. “Try ‘I saw you miss that step’ instead,” she offers. “I’ve never held her hand up the ramp or stood next to her to assist her in any way.”

Hendrickson probably agrees that it’s difficult to not want to make it easy for her child, but she knows in the long run she’s doing what’s best. “Help give them the confidence to figure it out on their own. Allow them to fall!” the actress suggests, hastening to add, “Safely of course. We don’t need to be hovering over them constantly. I truly believe she mastered this ramp because I trusted she could do it. TRUST them! “And that’s how it’s done,” commented @kiki.tp. “The mommy police will yell that you should have done this and that. Ran the first time she fell. But we fall a million times in life and learning to get back up and not repeat the same mistake teaches determination and perseverance which a lot of kids seem to be lacking.”
