The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, August 11, 2021, continues with the search for Mariah Copeland as Rey Rosales shares what he’s learned. Plus, Adam Newman ends things with Chelsea…and starts something with Sally Spectra, which causes Phyllis to foam at the mouth, yet again.
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) imagines that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) has come to rescue her. And Tessa is doing her best to do so! After Mariah supposedly sends Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) a text telling her she needs her space and can’t handle being smothered by her baby’s bio-mom, Tessa calls Abby and Devon Hamilton (Bryant James).
It’s amazing how Devon can always take a break from running both a record company and several non-profits to listen to Abby’s angst. All meet up at Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon Rosales’s (Sharon Case), where Rey reports that…he’s got nothing. Tessa will not stand for this! Someone must do something! Find her girlfriend! Abby is ready to spend money on it!
Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) chat about Conner (Judah Mackey) and agree that whatever romantic spark was between them is gone forever. They will just be co-parents from now on, nothing else.
Meanwhile, across town, Sally (Courtney Hope) comes clean to Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) about being fired from Fenmore’s. Chloe, who knows a little something about checkered pasts, is willing to give Sally a second chance. She has big plans for their media fashion empire.
Adam isn’t sure how he feels about it, but Chloe reminds him he gave her carte blanche over hiring. And that they both have just as checkered a past as Sally, if not far more damaging than the redhead.
When Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) sees Chloe and Sally chatting at Society, she bursts into tears at the unfairness of it all. There Sally sits, enjoying a midday drink in Wisconsin, while Phyllis’s precious daughter is suffering doing her dream job with her dream man in Milan.
Adam stops by to ask Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about hiring Sally, but Phyllis jumps in with a recitation of Sally’s sins. So, Adam wonders, Sally is just like…Phyllis?
