Mariah Copeland caught Lola Rosales’s wedding bouquet on The Young and the Restless several years ago. That hopeful moment offered so much promise for the future of Mariah and Tessa Porter, and yet, these two haven’t put a ring on it and made it official.
Young and the Restless: Faux Foreshadowing
With all the baby talk between Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), we wonder why nothing ever materialized in furthering their commitment to each other. After all, Mariah caught Lola’s (Sasha Calle) bridal bouquet when she married Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Although Lola’s relationship didn’t last long, we still can’t help but wonder why Mariah’s omen ended up being faux foreshadowing.
Certainly, Mariah didn’t end up being the next woman to marry after Lola. Plenty of others, including Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King), Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), and Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle), have tied the knot since that day. However, Mariah barely managed to move into her mother, Sharon Rosales’s (Sharon Case) apartment above Crimson Lights, with her girlfriend, Tessa.
And Baby Makes Three
With Mariah and Tessa planning to add to their family, we find it hard to believe that these two haven’t experienced a marriage proposal, engagement, or wedding. After all, they’ve already hinted at how difficult adoption is — particularly for a same-sex couple. So it seems, at the very least, they might be interested in making their union official for the sake of helping the process.
Of course, marrying for a baby isn’t the best idea, but it is one practical reason this couple might want to bind themselves together legally. They’ve been dating for several years. Throughout that time, they’ve experienced and overcome plenty of drama. However, with things going well, we’re surprised that neither Tessa nor Mariah has popped the question on The Young and the Restless.
With their baby news out among their family, everyone except Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) supports them. We believe their family would also adore seeing them say “I do.” Plus, many viewers want to see a wedding. It’s time to let these two move forward in their relationship while creating a family.
