On The Young and the Restless, Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor nagged and nagged and nagged until her presumed-dead husband agreed to turn his back on his mission and his comrades and come home to Genoa City with her.
The Young and the Restless Consequences
She won the battle, but will she lose the war? Almost 5,000 fans weighed in on whether she’ll come to regret her actions:
Do the Right Thing
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) face a rough road ahead, there’s no doubt about that, 45% of you admit, but, nonetheless, she did the right thing. The sooner Chance gets home, the sooner he can heal, which is the most important thing. Also, little Dominic needs to meet his daddy… before he gets any more attached to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).
Rep(Resent) on The Young and the Restless
Chance gave in to Abby’s pleas, and 36% of the audience is convinced he’ll come to resent her for forcing him to turn his back on his men. He might play nice for a while, claiming he’s happy he did it, play peek-a-boo with Dominic. But, eventually, the feelings he’s suppressed will resurface, and Abby will have to deal with the consequences of taking her husband away from what he sees as his life’s calling.
Thank You
Then again, 19% expect Chance to be nothing but grateful to Abby. He didn’t know what was best for him. Abby did. Chance thought he needed to live to ideals like honor, responsibility, cleaning up the mess you left behind instead of just turning tail and running.
Luckily, Abby showed him those were old-fashioned notions. The new man (see what we did there?) puts his wife’s needs first. Abby needed him back in Genoa City, so back to Genoa City he needed to come running. He won’t resent her. He’ll spend his life thanking her for her wisdom!
