On The Young and the Restless, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor was convinced that all she needed to do was find her presumed-dead husband, bring him home, and then she, he, and baby Dominic would live happily ever after. When Chance confessed that all was not well in his head and that he can’t just jump into husband and father mode without taking time to process what he’s just been through, Abby didn’t quite know how to react.
What do you mean she wasn’t getting exactly what she wanted exactly the way she wanted it? But she’s rich and young and pretty! Will Abby (Melissa Ordway) lose patience with her husband’s struggle? What over 2,000 viewers are predicting:
Chance (Conner Floyd) talking shop with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) suggests that he is more comfortable returning to work than he is returning to his instant family. Which leads 52% of you to suspect that Abby will not take it well. She’ll feel like she’s coming in second. And Abby hates that.
Abby has been through so many terrible relationships that 26% of the audience expects her to hold onto this one with every fiber of her being. She will never give up on Chance, because she knows she can never, ever do any better. Chance is upstanding, kind, and dashing. This is as good as it gets. She will wait as long as she needs to for him to pull himself together.
The only thing that might make Abby turn her back on Chance is if he refuses to step up and parent Dominic with the commitment that Abby expects. She wanted the baby, it feels to 22% of voters, more than she ever wanted the marriage. If she has to choose between the two, Chance won’t have a…well, chance.
