So you know how Jack Abbott is receiving mysterious texts on The Young and the Restless? Phyllis Summers figured out it was coming from a guy named Hal Nguyen, which Jack recognized as his late wife, Luan’s, father. But decided it could be him. Here’s who we think it really should be:

The Young and the Restless: Who Is It?

But first, here’s who we think should play the mystery person: Kim Zimmer. Yes, the multiple Daytime Emmy winner and Guiding Light veteran — where she played Reva Shayne. (Though she also appeared on The Doctors and One Life to Live, too.)

Y&R: Why Is It?

Why should it be Kim Zimmer? Well, first and foremost, see all the Daytime Emmy wins, above. And second, with the absence of Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) and Jess Walton (Jill Foster Abbott Atkinson), Genoa City desperately needs a diva in that age category.

Kim Zimmer: Who For?

Even more important, Jack (Peter Bergman) is in desperate need of a love interest. And Kim Zimmer would more than fit the bill. She’d loosen him up and settle him down, all at the same time — until Jack didn’t know if he was coming or going. That’s kind of Zimmer’s specialty.

Y&R: Twist in the Tale

And if sooner rather than later it came out that Zimmer’s mysterious character had an even more mysterious connection to Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), who just so happens to be played by Zimmer’s longtime GL co-star, where he was Joshua Lewis to her Reva.

Maybe she is the true love of Ashland’s life and this whole plan, starting with Tara Locke revealing Harrison’s paternity, Tara getting arrested, Ashland selling his company to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)…then taking over Victor’s company with Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) and getting his original one back…the terminal cancer diagnosis…the miraculous cure…the fake clinic…what if all of it was a deep con the two of them cooked up together? Now we’ve got conflict. Now we’ve got drama. Now we’ve got a story!
