Who Will Die In The Fire On The Young And The Restless?

As fans have seen in promos for  The Young and the Restless this week, Nick Newman’s Underground goes up in flames, causing jeopardy–especially for three of the show’s younger characters — Reed, Mattie, and Charlie.

Soaps aren’t above killing off characters, even young ones (remember Cassie? Delia?). Soap Hub asked Y&R fans who they think might die this week. Read on for the results!

Reed…Really?
A full 60% of you think that Victoria and J.T.’s son Reed is going to perish in the inferno at the Underground. While it may be inconceivable that Y&R would bump off a character tied to a core family like the Newmans, one has to keep in mind that the show has a history of losing beloved characters who’ve gone to that great soap in the sky.

In addition to the fore-mentioned Cassie, Y&R has also bid adieu to Katherine Chancellor, John Abbott, Ryan McNeil, Brad Carlton, and Rex Sterling, among others.

Wonder Twin Powers Activate!
It’s too bad that Mattie and Charlie don’t possess superpowers like the ones belonging to Jayna and Zan of the Superfriends. That way, she could fly away from the fire like an eagle while he transformed into water or ice to combat the fire.

But they may not need to. Only 30% of you think that Charlie is going to meet his maker while even less of you, 10%, feel that Mattie’s going to perish.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Y&R wouldn’t really bump off one of Cane and Lily’s kids, would they? It’s possible if you think of the dramatic repercussions. While Juliet’s baby has brought her and Cane together, perhaps the loss of one of Cane and Lily’s twins would bring the estranged husband and wife together?

Twins have a unique bond and Y&R would lose that connection if either Charlie or Matt perished. Still, The Bold and the Beautiful had twin girls, Phoebe and Steffy Forrester, and the former died in a car crash.

Like A Phoenix
Anything’s possible on soaps. Perhaps, one, two, or all three of the younger set will perish later this week in the fire. Or perhaps they will all survive. It looked like Colleen Carlton was going to die in a fire when she was trapped in Gina’s restaurant.

But, she stayed safe inside a freezer and was located by J.T.. Speaking of J.T. (Reed’s dad), Soap Hub was the first to report that Thad Luckinbill is bringing the character back to Y&R.

Is J.T. coming home to help his son or help bury him? Make sure you don’t miss the rest of this week on Y&R (or any week!) to see what happens next!

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
