The Days of Our Lives recap (DOOL) for Tuesday, October 31 took Day of the Dead a little too seriously as spooky things began happening all over Salem.
Horror For Sweetness
Steve (Stephen Nichols) told Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) that this year the dead will stay dead – as an escaped Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) prepared a syringe for a dead Dr. Rolf (Will Utay).
He woke up and Ben told Dr. Rolf he wants him to work on his victims. Disguised, they headed for the cemetery in an elevator with Kayla.
Back at the Pub, Kayla told Steve that her love for him has never changed and she apologized for blaming him about Joey. She also acted a little jittery. A cop appeared and told Steve that Kayla was strangled. He laughed and looked back to see she was gone. At the morgue, he saw Ben and strangled him to death.
On the Case
Rafe (Galen Gering) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) found out that Ben disappeared. They then heard about a disturbance at the cemetery and headed over.
When they ran into Dr. Rolf, Hope and Rafe are shocked. He said, “activate satellite” and suddenly Hope turned into Princess Gina and dissed Rafe at first but then liked him.
Of course, she then told him John (Drake Hogestyn) would always have her heart. Rolf then told her to shoot Rafe. She balked and instead he gave her poison. Rafe thought there’s no way she’ll do it but she did kill him. Gina then started to get Hope’s memories and then Hope appeared, distraught.
When Lani (Sal Stowers) wandered away from JJ (Casey Moss) to search for Ben, Paige (True O’Brien) appeared, shocking JJ. When she saw Lani, she yelled at him for cheating on her. Paige grabbed a pitchfork and killed Lani. When JJ freaked out, she grabbed his gun and killed him.
Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller) were talking about their bright future when JJ called to tell them that Ben escaped. They planned to escape to New York when suddenly Serena (Melissa Archer) appeared, back from the dead, and blamed Chad for her death. She then killed him and then Abby!
But just as Abby was killed, she woke up! It was all a nightmare and then we saw that all is right with the rest of Salem. Crisis averted — no more reading Jane Eyre for her!
