Lots of things happened in Genoa City during this Young and the Restless year. There was romance, heartbreak, complicated characters, and of course there was a lot of time devoted to families.
The Best Young and the Restless Storyline of 2021
But which story really had viewers on the edge of their seats, dying to know what happens next? What almost 2,000 voters told us:
Out of the Ashes
Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) was definitely the most intriguing new character, and 45% of you were dying to know more about him. Where did he come from? What did he want from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle)? Was he ever going to get back at Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for threatening to let him die? The answers we got may have been less thrilling than the questions, but there’s always hope that there’s more to this story – and this man.
Family Romance
We’ve passed the past almost two years locked in with our families, and 30% of the audience still can’t get enough. You loved it when all the core Genoa City families were together, whether it was Victor scheming with – and against – his children, or Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) using Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to remind Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) where his priorities should lie.
Young and the Restless Heartbreak
On the other hand, 15% of the fans were all about love and romance, whether that involved break-ups…or make-ups. Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) found her presumed-dead husband, Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) married Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King) moved to Italy with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines)…did homework together.
You Must Have Been Somebody’s Baby
How many parents does little Dominic have by now, a last-place 10% are wondering. We’re counting at least two moms, at least two dads, and all of their significant others. No baby has ever been more wanted. Or more badly planned for. Sure, kids need all the love they can get, but not when that means all the adults in their life are at each other’s throats!
