Traci returned to The Young and the Restless just as her family was in complete free-fall.
Billy (Jason Thompson) was back to gambling, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was messing with Jack’s (Peter Bergman) head, and Dina (Marla Adams) was keeping a secret that ended with Ashley grabbing all of her Jabot patents and high-tailing it out of town, leaving her beloved father’s company teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.
And through it all, Traci (Beth Maitland) kept smiling, being cheerful, and telling everyone to just keep loving each other and everything will turn out fine. Wrong, Traci. So, so wrong.
Do the Abbotts – or what’s left of them – need to keep Traci in town full-time? Here’s how nearly 19,000 expressed themselves.
Traci Elements
Traci makes everything better, 70% of you smile just thinking of her. She is about the only Abbott that every Abbott, including Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Abby (Melissa Ordway), are unfailingly polite to.
She makes them lower their voices…and their blood pressure. She makes them think about what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, and, most important, the effects of their actions on others.
She is the Abbott Jimney Cricket. She needs to stay. And possibly clone herself.
Without a Traci
The self-righteous yenta can go at any time, 29% beg to differ. Traci always thinks she’s right, and she’s always ready to sing Kumbaya…no matter how hurt her siblings might feel.
She takes forgiveness to the level of “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.” And Traci doesn’t so much inspire people to act better as shame them into it.
And that gets real old, real fast. You don’t appreciate being lectured by do-gooders in real life. You most certainly don’t need it daily on your TV screen.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
