Family turmoil, marital mayhem, and great casting combines for great drama in Genoa City. The soap has taken some riveting storyline turns that have fans of The Young and the Restless (YR) clamoring for more. Here are five reasons to watch the soap.

Family Affair
Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) had the picture-perfect family until Cane’s indiscretion with Juliet (Laur Allen) was exposed. It led to a pregnancy that could be the clan’s undoing.

So far, Lily’s stood by her man as they’ve dropped the bomb about Daddy’s affair and a baby sibling on their teens, Charlie and Maddie. Things are bound to intensify as Juliet’s burgeoning belly becomes a constant reminder of Cane’s infidelity.

Can This Marriage Be Saved… Again?
Are Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) really over? Their 38-year relationship took a major hit when Nikki discovered her husband’s role in the Chloe/Adam scam that led to his own son’s murder.

Now she’s being forced to keep Victor’s dirty little secret for fear of the truth coming out and ruining the Newman name, not to mention their multimillion-dollar company.

Mommie Dearest
Deadbeat mom Dina (Marla Adams) is back in town, eager to make amends with the grown children she abandoned as kids. While her return wasn’t met with open arms by all of her offspring, they’ve all come around – even longtime holdout Ashley (Eileen Davidson).

Watching Dina bond with granddaughter Abby (Melissa Ordway) has provided for touching scenes. The best is surely yet to come as the true reason Dina’s back – she’s obviously ailing — is revealed.

The Hilary Hour
Mishael Morgan has turned Hilary into one of soap’s most bewitching byatches. She seems to want to do the right thing but just can’t resist that devil on her shoulder.

Her longtime feud with Lily and new rivalry with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) are worth tuning in for daily, but it’s her complicated relationship with ex-husband Devon (Bryton James) that’s totally intriguing.

Great Scott
Y&R hit pay dirt with Daniel Hall, who exudes an earthy charm and devil-may-care attitude as Scott. He doesn’t fit the soap hero mold with his straggly hair and scruffy beard, but neither did Peter Reckell when he burst onto the soap scene as Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives.

Hall’s got what it takes to be the show’s new top hunk. The only question is which GC leading lady is ultimately going to end up in a super coupling with him.
