Two is company and three is a crowd…except on The Young and the Restless, where triple plays are constantly turning into triple crowns. Genoa City is full of potential triangles at the moment.
Young and the Restless Triangles We Love To See
And when there’s a triangle, romantic hearts can cause a huge mess. And where things are messy, the potential for awesome drama is increased. Here’s what the fans told us about which ones are working…and which ones aren’t:
Baby Love
Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) are the biological parents of little Dominic. Except that there was nothing romantic going on. Devon just did a friend a favor. His heart belongs to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). She just moved in. But, also, Abby’s husband has just been presumed dead. And she is leaning heavily on Devon for support. Uh-oh, some of you said. Followed by a yay, from 34% of the audience.
Familiar Young and the Restless Faces in Familiar Places
Once upon a time, it was a toss-up who fathered Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King) — Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) or Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow). Nick won that battle, and Nick is the one with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) today. But they keep fighting (we’re not really sure about what), and Phyllis keeps running to cry on Jack’s shoulder. Which is perfectly fine with the 26% of the fans who are loving seeing the triangle rev up again.
All In the Family
This triangle isn’t official yet, but 24% of the voters are intrigued by the idea of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) being torn between current love, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and ex-love Noah Newman (Rory Gibson). The brother/sister angle gives this trio a fresh kick.
Here We Go Again
In last place, only 16% are here for yet another tug-of-war over Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) by husband Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and ex-husband Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). How many times is Rey supposed to keep frowning as Sharon swears she’ll stay away from Adam before the brilliant detective gets a clue?
