The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Friday, December 22, features a collection of Christmas Eve disasters, as Dina and Jack storm away from the dinner table, Paul and Christine try to talk Nikki into turning on Victor, and Charlie plays matchmaker for Cane and Lily.
Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat
The Abbott family’s dinner went depressingly wrong when Jack (Peter Bergman) brought up Ashley (Eileen Davidson) voting him out as CEO of Jabot. Dina (Marla Adams) got into a snit over it, and stormed off, followed by Jack.
Traci (Beth Maitland) berated Ashley, Abby (Melissa Ordway) came to her mom’s defense, and everyone withdrew to their corners, leaving Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan) with no dinner.
Later, Jack gave Ashley an amendment – which says only a blood Abbott can hold the position of CEO. She slapped him.
Foster Children
Hilary looked for new dinner companions and ends up invited to sit with Devon (Bryton James), Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), and a very unenthused Lily (Christel Khalil). Lily took a call from Cane (Daniel Goddard), celebrating with Billy (Jason Thompson), Jill (Jess Walton), and Esther (Kate Linder).
Cane thanked Lily for the baby gift she sent Sam. Lily clarified that it wasn’t her, it was a match-making Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry).
Charlie later arrived at Lily’s celebration–and brought Cane. Tessa arrived, playing her guitar, and somehow managed to sing “Joy To the World” – without opening her mouth.
Double Agent
Having failed to turn Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) into a spy, Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) offered the position to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).
They suspected there was something fishy going on now that she’s moved back into the ranch, and they wanted Nikki to help them bring down Victor (Eric Braeden). They even offered her immunity–and the chance to finally escape Victor forever.
