She’s been making regular appearances as attorney Christine Williams on The Young and the Restless but that hasn’t stopped Lauralee Bell from taking on a new role. In her latest gig, she’s trading in one high power profession for another!
Bell stars in the Lifetime Movie film Nightmare Tenant in which she plays Dr. Carol Allen, who watches her daughter go off to college.
“At first, everything’s great,” Bell shared with TV Insider, “but slowly every aspect of Carol’s life is jeopardized. Things start to go haywire.”
The actress went from reciting legalese to medical jargon, but, fortunately, she says there wasn’t a lot of jargon to learn. “One day, they were like, ‘just adlib’ for a minute while you’re examining a patient,'” Bell recalls. “I think we pulled it off.”
One thing the actress learned was that doctors need to have white teeth because “you’re wearing a white coat a lot of the time!”
Bell served as executive producer on the film, which elevated her desire to make everything as close to perfection as it could be.
“If I feel that something’s off even a little bit, I’ll beg to do it again,” she says. “I don’t want anyone to catch anything. I fight for being completely authentic.”
The movie’s cast includes Jon Briddell as Carol’s boyfriend, Tom; Heather Hopkins as Carol’s daughter, Lacy; Virginia Tucker as Nikki, the tenant; and Karlisha Hurley is Ginger, Lacy’s best pal.
Nightmare Tenant debuts Friday, March 22 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime Movies.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
