Greg Rikaart voluntarily quarantined himself from the rest of his family after coming down with flu-like symptoms. The Young and the Restless actor has now given an update on social media as to whether or not he has the Coronavirus.

Greg Rikaart Speaks Out

“Hi, everybody,” Rikaart posted from his sickbed. “I just wanted to say, ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for all of your really kind and lovely words of support. They really warmed me and made me feel good.

“So, here’s the update,” the actor continued. “I just had a doctor come to the house. I don’t have the flu. I’m still running a fever of about 100 [degrees], but she doesn’t think I have the coronavirus — even though I couldn’t be tested because she didn’t have any kits…

“There’s no kits,” Rikaart sighed. “But my oxygen level and my blood [tests] were good. I haven’t had any shortness of breath, thankfully. So, there’s the update; hopefully, my fever breaks in the next day so I can go back to being a dad. But, for now, I’m still holed up in my room. Thank you. Stay well. Stay safe. Stay inside. Love you all, thanks.”

Rikaart’s daytime pals are sending out words of support to the actor. “Love you and you’re still handsome when you’re sick,” said Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe). Rikaart replied: “Thanks. But you’re biased, being married to me and all.”

“Love you! Praying you feel better soon!” posted Melissa Ordway (Abby). Also, Kate Linder (Esther) posted: “Sending you love and prayers.”

“Feel better man! Hang in there!” posted Darin Brooks (Wyatt, The Bold and the Beautiful).

Currently, YR and the three other daytime soaps have all halted production over coronavirus concerns. The good news is that all the soaps have weeks and weeks (and in Day of our Lives’ case, months and months) worth of episodes in the can so, original shows will continue to air while the situation develops and is evaluated. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
