The Young and the Restless Spoilers Spec: Billy and Lily Bring Down Newman

The Young and the Restless spoilers have a new crack reporter team on the job! Instead of Woodward and Bernstein, we’ve got Winters and Abbott! Jill hired Lily to work with Billy at Chancellor Media and, last we checked in on them, Billy was suspicious about a secret Victor and Adam are keeping from the world. Obviously it’s Billy’s business, and obviously he and Lily should look into it. Especially since Victor so menacingly told them not to.

Billy (Jason Thompson) wants to know what Adam (Mark Grossman) and Victor (Eric Braeden) are hiding. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) knows what they are hiding. In fact, she was the one who told Adam, as a way to keep from taking over the Newman CEO position.

So if Billy asks Victoria – and Victoria tells him – will he consider himself Reporter Of The Year, run with the story, and boast about bringing down Victor Newman in a way John (Jerry Douglas) and Jack (Peter Bergman) never could?

Useful Idiot

Adam was convinced that Victor was lying to him. He was convinced that Victor killed AJ, and if the evidence didn’t back that up, well, he was ready to take it to the court of public opinion!

But now Adam accepts the truth of his own responsibility but he knows that Billy is digging. So what if he uses Billy’s utter lack of experience in the journalism space to feed him a fake story and get Billy to run with it? So it will embarrass Victor. Which will benefit Adam. Somehow.

The Right Stuff

Lily (Christel Khalil) isn’t as likely to go off half-cocked as Billy. She might do some real research, collect some real evidence, consult with Amanda (Mishael Morgan) over in Legal, and then publish an exposé no one will be able to deny. Lily may be the one to put the Newmans in a position they can’t wriggle out of. If Billy doesn’t mess it up first. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
