Brand-new The Young and the Restless spoilers show that everything isn’t rosy for Adam and Chelsea just yet.

Prison life is hard on Adam (Justin Hartley) as he suffers more than anyone thought possible. Adam’s not coping well and is giving up on life. He’s not eating, is fighting sleep, and his hallucinations are out of control.

While Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) celebrates the news that Adam will be home soon, her husband is slipping into oblivion while he sits in his prison cell fighting visions of Victor (Eric Braeden). Everywhere he turns, he sees his father’s face. To make matters worse, a concerned prison guard becomes the target of Adam’s delusions.

Lack of food and sleep causes Adam to believe the correctional officer is really Victor mocking him. He envisions The Mustache telling him Chelsea and Connor are moving to Paris to be with her new beau. Chelsea is the love of his life and the thought of her falling for someone else drives him over the edge.

A Nearly Deadly Attack!
Poor Adam loses his mind and starts beating the guard–nearly causing his death. Punch after punch, Adam hopes he delivers a fatal blow to the man he thinks is his father.
