The Young and the Restless Spoilers: A Frank Talk About Cancer

The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, November 11, 2020, reveal a moving discussion between Sharon and Lily, two women who have suffered through and survived cancer.

Despite her brave front and optimistic attitude, it’s clear Sharon is still suffering emotionally from all she’s been through this year. Yes, her prognosis is wonderful, but that doesn’t mean she’s out of the woods for the rest of her life. It also doesn’t mean cancer hasn’t affected her in ways that are unseen.

Lily stops by Crimson Lights when Sharon is alone cleaning up and it’s clear she’s still a bit shaky. Lily tells Sharon she’s there to talk and Sharon takes her up on it immediately as the two women sit down to discuss their experience.

While Lily did not have breast cancer, she did suffer through ovarian cancer years ago and it changed her life forever. She was not able to carry her own children and had to have a surrogate, but it also took an emotional toll just like it’s doing with Sharon. She tells Sharon talking to others who have survived women’s cancers helped her and she’s there for her mother’s dear friend.

Sharon opens up and admits all the thoughts that have been going through her mind since her diagnosis, as well as the feelings she has now that her prognosis is so good. What if it comes back, she asks. She knows she’s not 100% out of the woods yet and that there are lifestyle changes she needs to make to keep herself healthy.

It’s a very open and honest talk with both women agreeing that hearing good news from their doctor made them want to embrace life more. Sharon says she is tired of wasting time, and it’s later clear when Rey walks in and they just give each other a smile and a knowing look that things are going to be okay.
