The Young and the Restless recaps for July 26 – July 30, 2021, feature Victoria Newman playing referee between warring exes Ashland Locke and Tara Locke, Phyllis Summers looking to get the goods on her beloved daughter’s rivals, and a worried Tessa Porter invading her missing girlfriend’s privacy.
A distressed Victoria (Amelia Heinle) caught sight of an unconscious Ashland (Richard Burgi) and immediately set about bringing him around. When Ashland claimed he’d merely succumbed to a panic attack, Victoria questioned whether the merger of their two companies was a good idea or a bad one.
Victoria once again broached the subject of Ashland undergoing medical treatment for his condition; he bristled at the idea…until Victoria later admitted to him the depth of her feelings.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) strongly suggested to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) that she send Connor back to Genoa City – and, despite initially objecting, Chelsea agreed to do so.
The young man is escorted home by Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), who reunited with Sharon Collins Rosales (Sharon Case). He’s put off by her mentioning that she’s crossed paths with Adam several times; she fails to mention that she made a major slip by calling Rey by Adam’s name.
Meanwhile, at Victoria’s urging, Ashland acquiesces to Tara’s demand that they reveal his medical diagnosis to Harrison together.
In an effort to prove collusion between Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Tara (Elizabeth Leiner), Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) surreptitiously “borrowed” Sally’s cellphone, composed an SOS message, and sent it to Tara.
Phyllis feels completely vindicated when her ruse results in Tara storming into The Grand Phoenix and demanding a face-to-face with Sally. Phyllis spies on, and records the subsequent confrontation; she then forwards it to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and his son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
As a result, both men grow suspicious. Jack confronted Sally and put a definitive end to their reignited romance; Kyle questioned Tara about the incident and found her explanation lacking.
Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) confided in Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that he’s debating his future prospects. Devon reiterated Moses’s concerns to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), and Nate is put out that his kin might not pursue medicine.
When he approached Moses to discuss the situation, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) made a point of telling Moses that she and Nate would support him, no matter what he chooses to do with his life.
When Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) fails to issue further communiqués, a concerned Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) decided to ascertain her location via a tracking app. However, her efforts are for naught. In the meantime, an imprisoned Mariah receives nourishment from her captor.
Devon and Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) romantic evening is made even more so when they declare their love for one another.
