The Young and the Restless recaps for June 21-25, 2021, feature Tara Locke showing her true colors, Summer Newman sacrificing her happiness so that Kyle Abbott can watch his son grow, and Victoria Newman and Ashland Locke inching ever closer to mixing business with pleasure.
Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) warned Summer (Hunter King) that if she declined Angelina Marchetti’s job offer, and if she refused to break up with Kyle (Michael Mealor), she’d abscond with Harrison (Kellen Enriquez), and ensure that Kyle never saw the tyke again.
After weighing her options, Summer decided to submit to Tara’s blackmail. To that end, she said her goodbyes to her mom and dad, gave Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) her notice, and told Kyle that she was leaving for Milan because she no longer loved him as passionately as he loved her.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has a nightmare in which Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) confines her to the mental health clinic for life, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) reaps the benefits. She awakens after Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) enters the fray and warns that she’s in a prison of her own making.
Ashland (Richard Burgi) appreciated Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) mercenary approach to business dealings, and he couldn’t help but admit that her proposition to merge his company with Newman Enterprises, was a tempting one. He eventually agrees. The romantic tension between the two remains palpable.
Evidence uncovered by P.I. Denise Tolliver (Telma Hopkins) seems to indicate that Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) was in contact with Richard prior to his death – something that she’s always strenuously denied.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) confronted her mother and demanded the truth, and Naya acquiesced. She did speak to Richard all those years ago, and he knew that she’d birthed twin girls and then gave them away.
Naya also copped to telling Sutton (Jack Landron) about the conversation – an act which Amanda is certain cemented her father’s fate.
A day later, Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) arrives in a huff and announces that Naya has confessed to arranging Richard’s murder, lest he brings shame upon her family name.
Nate (Sean Dominic) arranged a meal for himself and Elena (Brytni Sarpy), ostensibly to thank her for saving his life. However, he also confessed that he still loves her and that he does not want her to take the job in Boston.
The couple retires to Nate’s bedroom and makes love. Afterward, Elena emails her regrets to the hospital board.
Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) confided in Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) that the odds of Chance returning home sooner rather than later are high.
The women celebrate, though Abby continues to worry about her husband. While on a coffee break at Crimson Light’s, she runs into her former hubby Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan). The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
