The Young and the Restless recaps for April 19-23, 2021, features a whole host of characters playing hardball.

The Young and the Restless Recaps Highlight

In addition to pitting Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Victor (Eric Braeden) against each other, Ashland (Richard Burgi) busied himself with undermining Jabot – much to Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) major chagrin.

Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) returned to Genoa City in the hopes of halting her husband’s reign of terror, but she was instead greeted with intimations that her love affair with Kyle had been discovered and that she would be dealt with at a later time.

So while she and the Abbott’s worked to minimalize the damage being wrought, Ashland took a meeting with Victor. The businessmen quarreled over Ashland’s refusal to honor the previously agreed upon contract, and during the verbal skirmish, Ashland began to suffer from heart palpitations.

Victor refused to summon medical assistance until the original contract was signed…and once Ashland complied, Victor looked to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to phone for the ambulance.

The news of Ashland’s probably heart attack spread throughout the town – as did Victor’s failure to provide immediate assistance and his underhanded acquiring of the ailing man’s media empire.

The entire incident prompted Victoria to confront her father and bar him from ever stepping foot in the Newman Enterprises building again. She’s through with him and his constant interference and his blind spot where Adam (Mark Grossman) is concerned.

On The Case

During a pow-wow with Sutton (Jack Landron) and Naya (Ptosha Storey), Amanda (Mishael Morgan) revealed her strategy for clearing him of his murder charges – paint her father, the victim, as an opportunistic blackmailer who was probably killed by someone in Victor’s camp. Her grandfather and mother approve, and they reward Amanda with an invitation to family dinner.

Baby Talk

Abby (Melissa Ordway) took great delight in being able to speak with Chance over the phone and to tell him about Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) successful implantation. In nine months’ time, they are going to be parents!

Old Loves

Sharon (Sharon Chase) and Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) attempted to have a civilized conversation about the state of their marriage, but just when it seemed that progress had been made, Adam placed a call to Sharon. In response, Rey insisted that he would be moving out that very day and that he would not be returning.

Meanwhile, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) remained depressed over Nate’s (Sean Dominic) inability to forgive her for sleeping with Devon (Bryton James) – especially in light of Devon and Amanda’s rekindled love affair. Lola (Sasha Calle) attempted to play matchmaker for the exes, but her best-laid plans were all for naught.

Never Say Never

Sally (Courtney Hope) complained to Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) that Jack’s dismissal of her had broken her heart given the fact that she’d fallen in love with him. Lauren warned Sally that she had better give up on the notion that Jack would ever forgive her or take her back. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
