The Young and the Restless recaps for July 5 – July 9, 2021, feature every businessman (and woman) chomping at the bit to get their greedy paws on Ashland Locke’s company.
The Young and the Restless Recaps Highlight
After a gossip site publishes a story claiming that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) is grievously ill, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) put their top investigator into the field, then publish their own story concerning Ashland and Tara’s (Elizabeth Leiner) impending divorce, and the truth about Harrison’s paternity.
Billy and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) both contemplate putting in a bid for Locke Media Group, but it’s Billy who actually puts an offer on the table. Though intrigued, Ashland continued to press ahead with his plan to merge his company with Newman Enterprises; he and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) later cement their personal commitment to one another with a night of passion at The Grand Phoenix.
YR Recaps: The Truth Is Out There
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) finally succeeded in convincing Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) to hire her, and allow her to enter a plea of “Not Guilty.” However, Naya insisted that Amanda shy away from implicating Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) in Richard’s murder.
Amanda promised that she would do so – then confided in Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) that she plans to ensure both Naya’s freedom and Sutton’s permanent incarceration.
Young and the Restless Recaps: Service Charge
Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) aided Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in getting Dr. Hedges (Michael Bofshever) to incriminate himself on record – a development which sent the frazzled shrink running to Victor.
A prying Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) got Victor to confess his role in convincing Chelsea to fake the mental breakdown in order to avoid a prison sentence. Adam insisted that they see to it that Chelsea is freed from the mental health clinic, and Victor relents – on the proviso that Chelsea keeps from betraying the scheme.
Chelsea is allowed a day pass, during which time she is reunited with Connor, and informed that her mother has suffered a serious injury.
Y&R Recaps: Sally Forth
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) persist in seeing one another – a development which did not sit well with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Despite a warning from Sharon Rosales (Sharon Chase) to steer clear of the nascent couple, Phyllis made a nuisance of herself.
The Young and the Restless Recaps: Not So Happy Hour
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) opened up his home to Amanda, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), and Imani. During the course of the evening, tensions flared between Elena and Imani when the latter made a point to flirt with Nate.
YR Recaps: Be Our Guest
The extended Abbott clan, namely Tracy (Beth Maitland) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) meet Harrison and welcomed him into their family. The women are smitten by their great-nephew.
The Young and the Restless Recaps: Missing In Action
Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Benjamin “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) have yet another awkward cross; she eventually goes AWOL, though Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Abby Newman Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) choose not to panic about the fact.
Y&R Recaps: Future Plans
Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) admitted to Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) that he’s no longer sure if he wants to pursue medicine. He does, however, which to remain in Genoa City – something he fears will not be possible should he abandon his studies.
Young and the Restless Recaps: When In Milan…
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) ensured that daughter Summer (Hunter King) was settled in her new apartment, then agreed to her request that he refrain from being so tough on Kyle. He’s later surprised by Phyllis, who’s decided to join him in Italy after all.
