The Young and the Restless recaps for May 17-21, 2021, features Kyle and Summer’s lives getting even messier than before, Chelsea climbing the walls, and so much more.
Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) and Harrison made their presence known at Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer’s (Hunter King) engagement party – much to the betrothed’s chagrin.
The trio made a hasty retreat to The Grand Phoenix, and while Summer battled with Sally (Courtney Hope) in the lobby, Tara explained to Kyle why she was in town: Ashland (Richard Burgi) tricked her into confessing to the affair they’d had in the Hamptons, and now he’s threatening to take Harrison away from her.
Tara then begged Kyle to claim paternity of his son so that she wouldn’t have to part with him… Kyle and Summer debated the merits of capitulating to Tara’s request, and he came to the conclusion that he must do so.
Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon (Sharon Chase) come together for a reckoning, and they both decide that their marriage is worth fighting for. Rey returns to the house, which delights a recuperating Faith (Reylynn Caster).
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) began to chafe over her confinement to the mental health clinic, and she began to strategize on how to launch her “recovery.” To further her goal, she requested a visit from Rey, and when he arrived she tearfully apologized for poisoning him. Rey forgave Chelsea to her face…but then behind her back, he wondered just how sincere she was being.
Meanwhile, Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) confessed her part in Chelsea’s scheme to Kevin (Greg Rikaart)….then denied the same exact charges when they were leveled against her by Rey.
After meeting with Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose), Amanda (temporary recast Karla Mosley) accepts her offer to join Sutton’s (Jack Landron) defense team. Later, Amanda admits to Devon that she’s only hired Imani as a way of keeping her close by; furthermore, Amanda promises that she’s going to learn every little detail about her newfound family.
Billy (Jason Thompson) suggests to Lily (Christel Khalil) that they should come out of the gate swinging where Cyaxares is concerned, and Lily agrees…much to Billy’s astonishment. Later, the couple begins shopping for real estate.
Adam and Nick continue to slowly inch toward a brotherly reconciliation – which pleases Victor (Eric Braeden) to no end… The businessman and his youngest son later solidify their plan to take on and crush ChanceCom and by extension Billy.
After hearing Victor’s pitch, Adam agrees to rechristen Cyaxares Newman Media. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
