The Young and the Restless recaps for December 6 – December 10, 2021, feature a fraught homecoming, several audacious double-crosses, and so much more.
Though initially hesitant, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) agrees to attend the party that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) have organized in honor of his return…Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) saddles up next to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) at Society; he gives her a sob story, which she relays to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)
Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) arranges a meeting between himself and Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow), ostensibly so the two of them can clear the air. Nick reiterates his distrust of Ashland and warns him against hurting Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Having eavesdropped on the conversation, Victoria pointedly asks Nick why he insists on blaming other people for his own problems.
Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) agreed to consider further collaborating with Newman Media…Billy proudly announced to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that his plan to lull his enemies into a false sense of security has begun to bear fruit.
Chance’s homecoming party begins with a champagne toast. The guest of honor offers a toast of his own – to his fallen colleagues. An overwhelmed Chance is forced to take a moment to recoup; Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) witnesses this and is perturbed. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) suggests to Victor and Nikki that they focus their attention on Chance and his emotional/psychological recovery.
Billy’s attempt to interest Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in helping him purchase ChancComm is for naught…Lily overhears Adam asking Sally to spy on Billy; Sally at first, refuses, though she comes around to the idea…Rey Rosales (Jodi Vilasuso) and Chance reconnect.
Chance begins to understand the toll his absence took on Abby when he views one of her many emotional video diaries…Lily backs Billy’s counterattack against Victor and Adam…Jack tells Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that he is unwilling to give their romance another go.
Victoria and Ashland celebrate a positive development – his cancer has not progressed since beginning the experimental treatment…In Adam’s presence, Billy puts on a depressive, booze-soaked show; his supposed bender is recorded by a mystery blonde…Lily assists in Billy’s charade by “confiding” in Victoria her worry that Billy is headed for a fall…Victor tells Adam that Newman Media will not be bidding for ChancComm; Adam begins putting together an offer regardless.
Noah is put out by the sight of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) kissing…Nick returns a box full of Phyllis’s personal effects; their interaction is bittersweet…Devon and Mariah both privately worry that Chance isn’t up to the challenge of carrying for Dominic.
