The Young and the Restless recaps for July 12 – July 16, 2021, feature Chelsea Lawson getting exactly what her heart desires, Victoria Newman and Ashland Locke presenting a united front, and Amanda Sinclair refusing to back down from a fight.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) implored Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to reconsider letting her take Connor with her to see Anita, but he dismissed the request outright. Chelsea then paid a visit to Crimson Lights, where she made a point of apologizing to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) for her past actions – and bemoaning the fact that Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) are actively conspiring to keep her from her son.
Sharon surprised Adam by encouraging him to let Connor leave with Chelsea; Adam relented, but Victor threatened to make waves. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) revealed that he’s been tasked with shadowing Chelsea.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), and Harrison’s family outing was marred by Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) sudden appearance, and his subsequent medical emergency. The entire incident is captured by Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), who’d been tasked with playing videographer by Tara. Edits from the video are then disseminated to various media outlets.
Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) spend an afternoon together at the Newman Ranch; things take an awkward turn when Moses suggests that there might be more to their relationship. The two later decide to take things slow.
Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) purposefully flirts with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) – even after she’s made well aware of the fact that he’s on a date with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland publicly announced the merging of their two companies, and Ashland admitted to suffering from a serious illness. Afterward, Victoria invited Ashland to move in with her; he initially declines the offer, but Victoria sways him into accepting.
Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) attempted to insinuate himself into Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) case, but she refused to share with him any details about her strategy for getting Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) acquitted of murder charges. After exhausting several investigatory avenues, Amanda turned to Victor and asked for his help in outing Sutton as her father’s true murderer.
Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) continued to worry over Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) mysterious absence – and the resulting tensions led the women to snap at one another. Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) further exacerbated matters by suggesting that someone from Tessa’s past may have come seeking revenge and that Mariah was collateral damage.
