The Young and the Restless Recaps for May 31-June 4, 2021, feature Kyle becoming an official father, Ashland going to extremes to one-up a rival, and so much more.
After obtaining the results of the paternity test, Kyle (Michael Mealor) delighted in telling Ashland (Richard Burgi) that he is Harrison’s father. In response, Ashland amended his divorce filing from “no-fault” to “fault” – and he listed the grievance as adultery!
Ashland later gives Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) a settlement offer: shared custody of Harrison, on the condition that Kyle is completely cut out of the boy’s life. A furious Kyle tracked Summer (Hunter King) down, informed her of the offer on the table, and stated his intentions to stake a claim in his son’s life. It’s a prospect that doesn’t appeal to Summer, as she’s having trouble accepting Harrison and Tara into her and Kyle’s life.
In anticipation of similar action, Billy (Jason Thompson) and Lily (Christel Khalil) publish an incendiary expose about Newman Media. When Victor (Eric Braeden) pushes Adam (Mark Grossman) to retaliate in kind, Adam preaches discretion.
Michael (Christina LeBlanc) informed Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) that she had been found not guilty by reason of insanity. He then privately ponders the probability that Chelsea and Victor’s hand worked together to contrive such an outcome.
Victor and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) both paid Chelsea their respective visits, the former to remind her to stay the course, and the latter to threaten that Chelsea’s actions better not backfire on Chloe.
Billy (Jason Thompson) and Lily (Christel Khalil) ready their new apartment for comfortable living. Devon (Bryton James) stops by with a housewarming present. Once she’s been made aware of the situation, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) also pays the couple a visit, gift in hand. She and Lily attempt to make nice, but the tension is evident.
At Victor’s urging, Adam and Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) seriously consider forming a partnership between Newman Media and New Hope. Devon is brought into the negotiations, and after conferring, he and Nick agree to the proposal… Adam makes a business overture to Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), but she refuses to entertain the notion.
Despite her best efforts, Amanda (Mishael Morgan) is unable to convince Sutton (Jack Landron) to amend their case strategy. He stubbornly insists that they continue to lay the blame for Richard’s death on a Newman Enterprises employee, rather than reveal anything connected to the man’s search for his missing daughter.
