The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, June 16, 2021, circles around Ashland’s upcoming death. Is he playing Kyle and Tara? Is Victoria playing him? Plus, Lily wants Billy to keep his distance from the entire situation, and Amanda’s family gives her a different version of events.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Ashland (Richard Burgi) told Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) about his deteriorating health and swore them to secrecy. He wants to tell Harrison himself. And he doesn’t want anyone else to know. After he leaves, Kyle wonders if this changes anything: Does Tara want to go back to Ashland?
She says no, swearing her marriage is over. She doesn’t address the obvious fact that, if she’s still married to Ashland when he dies, she ends up with all his money. Bye-bye, prenup! Summer (Hunter King) shows, sees Kyle deep in conversation with Tara, and, of course, pouts. Kyle tells her about Ashland’s illness. Despite promising not to.
Keep Mum
Lily (Christel Khalil) doesn’t want Billy (Jason Thompson) writing about the Locke divorce, and reminds him that he is too close to the story. Not only is Kyle his nephew, but he doesn’t like Victoria’s burgeoning friendship with the Locke Ness Monster.
Meanwhile, Victoria accepts Ashland’s invitation to lunch. Unlike Tara, Victoria is very interested in what will happen to Ashland’s money after he’s gone. Why else would she have demanded a report on all his holdings? Or be quizzing him about a successor? Has Victoria found the ultimate way to defeat Victor (Eric Braeden) for good?
Liar, Liar
Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose) tells Amanda (Mishael Morgan) that Sutton (Jack Landron) is furious she quit on him. Naya (Ptosha Storey) earlier said he was fine with it. Amanda is tired of all the lies. She quits working for Chancellor Communications so she can focus all her time on figuring out who really killed her dad. Naya warns Amanda she doesn’t want Sutton as an enemy. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
