The Young and the Restless recap for May 25-29, 2020 features a dip into the soap’s archives and a celebration of all things wicked.
“Villains Week” put the vilest of the vile front and center. And what a treat it was. Viewers were able to relive the comeuppance of two of daytime’s worst fiends and they were no doubt thrilled by the throwback to Eva Longoria’s days as the oh-so-deliciously cuckoo Isabella. And who would ever so “No thanks” to an episode featuring the one and only Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)?
David Kimble (Michael Corbett) taught us a few valuable lessons before shuffling off this mortal coil. Don’t cross Christine (Lauralee Bell), Paul (Doug Davidson), Danny (Michael Damian), or Nina (Tricia Cast). Don’t threaten a plastic surgeon BEFORE he puts you under anesthesia…he could really do a number on your face.
Don’t slap your partner-in-crime around and expect her to remain loyal to your murderous cause. And, most importantly, when lounging about in dumpsters, DON’T hit the compactor switch!
Speaking of lessons learned, one would think that after all those years of tangling with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Christine would have learned a thing or two that would have assisted her in dealing with Isabella Brana.
Instead, she allowed herself to be gaslit by her rival for Paul’s affection and nearly drowned in a bathtub. What fans didn’t get to see, of course, was Paul valiantly riding to his beloved’s rescue, resuscitating her and arresting his troublesome wife.
Once Upon A Time, Kevin (Greg Rikaart) was a bad, bad man. We’d say “ask Colleen about it” because, after all, she was the one he lured to Gina’s restaurant, locked inside a freezer, and then nearly burned to death. But she’s dead now – totally unrelated to the arson case.
They say pure evil never really dies. And Sheila Carter is living proof of that sentiment. She also proves that purely evil people REALLY known how to hold a grudge – she’s still not over that whole “Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) reclaiming the baby that was stolen from her in the first place” thing.
She planned to show her displeasure by blowing Lauren to kingdom come on her honeymoon. But even though the bomb she planted, she did indeed destroy the yacht that Lauren and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) had chartered, the former had actually been spirited away by the co-conspirator that Sheila had planned to double-cross. Don’t ya just hate when that happens?
If you thought Sheila was bad (and she most certainly was) wait till you meet Mama Bear *ahem* we mean Sarah Smythe, Sheila’s sister. She hated Sister Killer (sorry, we meant to say Lauren) so much that she had herself turned into her exact double and planned to usurp the woman’s life.
Lauren did not approve of that plan nor did she appreciate being locked inside a cage. So, at the first available opportunity, she shot Sarah dead! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
