The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, September 15, 2021, opens on Ashland Locke sharing his sad childhood story with Victoria Newman’s loved ones – and Billy Abbott. Victor Newman is impressed, Nikki Newman is hesitant, Billy is fired up.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) isn’t thrilled to learn that her daughter is about to marry a man who vanquished his past so thoroughly that Ashland (Richard Burgi) technically doesn’t exist.

Victor (Eric Braeden) is more inclined to give Ashland the benefit of the doubt. He’s so much, so much like…who does it remind him of – oh, yes, Victor! He’s just like Victor! Which makes him A-OK in Victor’s book.

Besides, Victor clarifies for Nikki, Ashland isn’t Billy Boy (Jason Thompson). And Victor will give his blessing to any marriage which doesn’t include that spoiled brat of Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) and John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas).

Y&R Recap: That Sounds Familiar

Billy also noticed how much Ashland’s sob story sounded like Victor’s. And he doesn’t buy it. There was to be more to Victoria’s intention than just being a heroic, self-made man. He tells Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that instead of dropping the hunt, like Victoria asked, this only made him want to dig deeper into Ashland’s past.

Young and the Restless: Oh, No You Don’t

Ashland gathered as much from Billy’s behavior. He tells Victoria that he is through playing Mr. Nice Guy. He’s going to have a little chat with Billy. And explains what happens to jealous ex-husbands who try to take him down.

He walks in just as Lily is observing – again – that Billy’s interest in Ashland Locke’s past seems to be less newsworthy and more possessive-y. Back at Victoria’s, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is predicting this showdown between Ashland and Billy won’t end well.

Also, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) turns down a date with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) because she is sleepy. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
