The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, August 30, 2021, picks up after Mariah Copeland’s rescue, as Abby Chancellor and Devon Hamilton ponder their new parenthood, and Nick Newman confronts Phyllis Summers, who, naturally, blames someone else for her own actions.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is finally in the hospital where she can get the medical care she was lacking during captivity – and that very unsanitary delivery on the same sheets where she’d been sleeping for weeks. Abby (Melissa Ordway) informed Chance – virtually – that he was now a dad.
Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) brought in Baby Bowie, insisting he was starving. Considering the infant wasn’t making a sound…or even stirring…we question her medical expertise. But Abby did say she was a pediatrician. Since Mariah was still sleeping, Elena gave Abby a bottle of formula and told her to give her son his first feed.
Meanwhile, Devon (Bryton James) who, all along, insisted he was just the sperm donor, not the dad, was talking about how excited sister Lily (Christel Khalil) would be to meet her nephew…and how he wished Neil (Kristof St. John) could have been here to meet “our little boy.”
Does that sound like the sperm donor is getting overly attached to anyone else? Especially when he watches Abby with “their” son. Someone else who may be more attached than promised is Mariah, who wakes up to hear Abby telling the baby, “Mommy is here now.”
Y&R Recap: You’ll Never Get Away With This
Nick (Joshua Morrow) noted that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was spending an awful lot of time with her ex-husband, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and wondered if he weren’t in the picture, would Phyllis be making a play for Jack?
Instead of acknowledging her absolutely bonkers behavior ever since Summer dared leave town, Phyllis made a beeline for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), vowing REVENGE (now with crazy eyes).
Sally blew Phyllis off and told Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) she has a plan to deal with Phyllis. Alas, that plan involves Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) – and Chelsea tells Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) she isn’t sure about working with Sally. The woman has been known to be less than perfect, you know!
Chelsea’s ex is more impressed with his new hire. And he’d like to hear Sally’s plan to take over the fashion world. To that end, he invites her to be his date at the official launch of Newman Media. She’ll…think about it.
