The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, November 1, 2021, welcomes a new month with a tense lunch between Nicholas Newman, Phyllis Summers, Nikki Newman, and Jack Abbott, while Victor Newman and Ashley Abbott worry about their daughter, as do Devon Hamilton, Mariah Copeland, and Tessa Porter.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) promises Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) a mature lunch with no strife…but then they run into Jack (Peter Bergman) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), who invite the younger couple to join them. Pleasant chit-chat is made until conversation turns to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and what he and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) did to get rid of Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) in Italy.
Phyllis and Jack joke that whatever he did was only a little illegal, so, hey, Victor is growing as a person! Nick pushes Nikki on the subject, but she admits she doesn’t want to know. The uncomfortable foursome makes Nick and Phyllis realize that their happy coupling is over. Yet again.
At the same time, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) flirts with Adam, which proves to be a lot more fun than what’s going on at the other Newman table.
Everyone descends on Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) home when news of Chance’s death becomes harder and harder to ignore.
Devon (Bryton James) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) take Dominic for a walk, and Mariah sends her therapist mom over to offer some professional help. At the coffeehouse, Mariah wonders how Abby’s stress will affect the baby. Devon talks about how sad he was when Hilary (Mishael Morgan) died. But, hey, he got over it, Tessa cheers. See? Everything will be fine.
Meanwhile, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Victor (Eric Braeden) hover as Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) tries to get Abby to articulate her feelings. Victor has an idea, pulls out his phone, and starts typing. Ashley asks what he’s doing. Victor keeps mum. He’ll handle this, you got that?
