The Young and the Restless Recap: Kyle Takes a Paternity Test As Summer Freaks

The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, May 26, 2021, finds Kyle looking to get some concrete answers about Harrison, while Summer vents to anyone willing to listen. Plus, Summer gets wise advice from a familiar face, and an unconventional family gets together for a group project.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Ashland (Richard Burgi) wants Jack (Peter Bergman) to stay out of his marriage, but Jack counters that Ashland stuck himself into his family life when he went after Jabot. Point, Abbott! Even Ashland is impressed.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, a nurse comes to swab Harrison’s cheek for a DNA test. Kyle (Michael Mealor) wonders how she’ll explain it. Tara says she’ll turn it into a game. Does the child never go to the doctor? Why does he need an explanation? He’s 3. He has no idea what’s normal and what isn’t?

Summer (Hunter King) whines that this is too much for her, she needs space. Kyle makes it clear that she is the most important person in this scenario and he is totes supportive. While getting her space, Summer runs into Nick (Joshua Morrow) who, as her dad, is allowed to only care about Summer’s feelings in this situation. But if she’s curious about his – he thinks Kyle is a jerk. But Nick respects his loyalty to Harrison.

Hang In There, Baby

Tired of facing Kyle and Summer’s ridiculously over-the-top abuse, Sally (Courtney Hope) calls her grandmother Shirley (Patrika Darbo) for a pep talk. Gram reminds her that life isn’t fair, and Sally shouldn’t let anyone get her down. Rich people get most things their way. But they don’t have to get all things their way. Which is why Sally approaches Ashland.

Abby (Melissa Ordway), Mariah (Camryn Grimes), Devon (Bryton James), and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) make a video for Chance. Mariah relays that when she tripped and fell, she wasn’t thinking about herself, only precious Abby, the mother of the baby Mariah is carrying. Aaaaaaand we’re back to entitled rich people.
