The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, September 9, 2021, dips into ancient history, as Jack Abbott tells Phyllis Summers how he really feels about her, Nick Newman and Sharon Rosales question each other about how they really feel about their current partners, and Victor Newman questions Sally Spectra’s intentions towards Adam Newman.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) stops by Jack’s (Peter Bergman) so they can both sob yet again about how much they miss Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King), who dared move out of their parents’ houses at the ridiculously young ages of almost 30. Jack speaks movingly about how embarrassing it is to feel lonely at his age.

They agree you shouldn’t be with a person because you hope they’ll turn into somebody else. Phyllis wonders what in the world Jack was waiting for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to turn into.

Jack admits he hoped she’d turn into Phyllis. Jack is still madly in love with Phyllis. After this confession, Jack falls asleep. We can only hope he was ridiculously drunk, and that’s what brought this nonsense on.

Y&R Recap: Nice and Easy

Nick (Joshua Morrow) tells Sharon (Sharon Case) his relationship with Phyllis is a lot smoother now that he’s decided to accept all her crazy. Sharon suggests he’s settling. Nick counters that she’s doing the same with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). They clean up Crimson Lights…and think deeply about what just happened.

Young and the Restless: Unfit

Victor (Eric Braeden) invites Sally over to warn her not to use Adam (Mark Grossman) to fix her reputation and calls her a few names. He invokes Connor as the reason for wanting to protect his son.

Adam stomps in and pouts. Afterward, however, Adam tells Sally they shouldn’t see each other outside of the office anymore. Sally is tired of the word should. She strongly suggests Adam should grow up and not care so much about what Daddy thinks.
