The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, January 5, 2021, makes it clear that Chelsea’s illness is all about Adam – and Victor, that Sally’s future is all about Summer, and that Victoria’s parenting is all about Billy.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
In case fans were under the mistaken assumption that Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) brain surgery is about Chelsea, YR rushes to correct that she’s barely a player in this storyline at all. Instead, this story is about Adam (Mark Grossman) finally coming to his senses and going on bended knee to Victor (Eric Braeden) begging him to help Adam get Chelsea the best medical care.
It’s about Victor being the bigger man and helping his son out, despite the boy’s lack of adoration. And it’s about Adam whining about how Chelsea’s illness is all his fault. Oh, no, not because he cut off the electricity that caused Chelsea to fall and hit her head in the elevator months ago. But because it’s karma against his bad deeds. Chelsea doesn’t even get her own karma – and she’s done some awful things, too!
Victor arranges for Adam to visit Chelsea, who is paralyzed on the right side of her body and can’t speak. We can’t wait to hear how Adam makes that about himself, too!
Problem Child
Jack (Peter Bergman) tries to play peacemaker between Sally (Courtney Hope) and Summer (Hunter King). Sally is grateful that he and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) believe in her. Summer pouts and rolls her eyes that not just Jack but now Kyle (Michael Mealor) is on “Sally’s side.”
Mud Will Be Flung
Billy (Jason Thompson) accuses Victoria (Amelia Heinle) of using Johnny’s alleged anxiety to keep Billy from going away with Lily over Christmas. Victoria makes a deeply shocked face.
Odds and Ends
Lily (Christel Khalil) offers Amanda (Mishael Morgan) advice about meeting her biological mother. Amanda finally calls Naya and identifies herself. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
